The J. Smith Young YMCA is a multi-use facility which offers an indoor heated pool, cardio and fitness centers, aerobics center, gymnasium, racquetball courts, bowling center, youth center, and locker facilities.  Our adult locker facilities each feature a steam room, sauna, and whirlpool.

Rear auxiliary entrance

Another entrance to the Y is located at the back of the building at the First Lutheran Church parking lot.  This entrance is only open during peak times which are determined on a weekly basis. A 'Rear Entrance is Open' sign will be set up outside the main front entrance when the rear entrance is open but no transactions of any kind are taken at this location.

Directions:  

Note - All cross streets off of Main St. are numbered streets on the north end of town and numbered avenues on the south end of town.

From Winston-Salem:

• Take US-52 South to Lexington exit (Hwy 8 South)
• Turn left at the top of the exit ramp; follow Hwy 8 into town
• After crossing over Business 85 (Hwy 29-70), pass through stop light and road will fork to the right at Hardees
• Road forks to the left or right at Wynn Com - take right fork which is W. 5th St. 
• Follow W. 5th St. to N. State St. and turn right 
• Follow N. State St., crossing over W. Center St., until you reach the YMCA on the corner of S. State St. and W. 3rd Ave.  Parking lot can be entered from either street.

From High Point:

• Take Business 85 South to Lexington downtown exit (left lane).  This exit becomes N. Main St.
• Follow N. Main St. through the center of town, crossing over Center St. (look for the Old Court House at the square)
• Go 3 blocks and turn right onto W. 3rd Ave.
• YMCA is at the corner of W. Third Ave. and S. State St.  Parking lot can be entered from either street.

From Charlotte:

• Take I-85 North to exit 91 (NC Hwy 8); turn right off the exit ramp
• Follow Hwy 8 (Cotton Grove Rd.) to S. Main St.
• Turn right on S. Main St.
• Follow S. Main St. to W. Third Ave. and turn left
• YMCA is at the corner of W. Third Ave. and S. State St.  Parking lot can be entered from either street.

From Mocksville:

• Take US-64 East into Lexington - the road will become W. Center St.
• Follow W. Center St. to S. State St. (you will see Lex. State Bank on the right)
• Turn right onto S. State St.
• Go 3 blocks to W. 3rd Ave. - the YMCA is on the corner of W. Third Ave. and S. State St.  Parking lot can be entered from either street.
