Camp Timberwood Grades 1-5 -Serves Lexington City Schools, Davis-Townsend, Southwood, Reeds, Tyro, and Welcome students -Meets at the YMCA and Lexington Kiwanis Camp
Camp Northern Light Grades 1-6 -Serves Friedberg, Midway, Northwest and some North Davidson Middle School students -Meets at Friedberg School (Mon.-Thurs.) and YMCA (Friday)
Camp Adventure Grades 6-9 -Meets at the YMCA Youth Center
Parents - you may sign your child up for any camp you wish regardless of which school your child attends (must be grade appropriate)
Camp Timberwood is the YMCA Day Camp for children entering grades 1-5 that serves the southern part of our service area(Churchland, Tyro, Welcome, Reeds, Southwood, South Lexington, Southwest, Pickett, Davis Townsend, and Charles England schools).
This camp will operate from June 14th through August 20th. Part of the summer, campers will travel out to the Kiwanis Camp on Ridge Rd. While at this camp site, campers will participate in activities that include swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, outdoor games, overnighters and more. The other weeks will be held at a local school site. During these weeks campers will go to the YMCA to swim, take field trips, play sports and have games, do arts and crafts, participate in drama and music, and more. Campers may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. and must be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m.
Camp Northern Light is the YMCA Day Camp that serves the northern part of our YMCA service area. Students who attend Camp Northern Light are entering grades 1-8 (at Friedberg, Midway, Northwest, and North Davidson Middle schools). This camp will operate June 14th through August 6th. If you need camp after this date, you will need to also sign up for Camp Timberwood.
The program will offer days of outdoor activities, games, songs, trips, overnighters and more. Campers will also go swimming at least twice a week. Camp hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Camp Adventure is the YMCA Day Camp for students entering grades 6-9 and will operate from June 14th through August 20th. Camp Adventure meets at the YMCA Youth Center and takes many trips during the summer. Some trips will be to places such as Carowinds, Emerald Pointe, Tanglewood, overnight campouts, and other places that offer adventure and learning. This camp provides older campers with fun, character building, and adventure during the summer. Campers may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. and must be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m.
