Fun. Delivered fresh daily.
Our YMCA summer day camp program will give you peace of mind while you are at work. This program will assure the learning, fun and character-building experienced during the school year continues into the summer months. The activities are designed to keep your child’s mind and body active while nurturing the YMCA’s core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Summer Day Camp has a number of unique features that make it an outstanding experience for those boys and girls attending. We offer a structured schedule of activities in which every child (ages 6-14) are able to participate. These activities include sports and recreation, arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, academic enrichment and exploring nature. The children also take part in traditional activities appropriate for their respective age levels.
We are excited to be able to offer day camp this summer, beginning Monday, June 7, 2021. Our camp is going to look a little different this summer, but as always, we will do our best to create the best summer experience possible for your children! At this time, due to CDC recommendations, we won’t be able to offer long distance field trips, but we have so many fun things in store! We will bring multiple field trips to the kids at the Y, we will swim, play outdoors and bowl throughout the week. As guidelines change and restrictions are lifted, we will make changes as well.
As always, our YMCA puts safety first in everything we do. 2021 Day Camp will strictly follow the regulations of the CDC, state and local government officials and the North Carolina State Alliance. During this time, please know that all decisions that are made, will be made with caution and safety in mind.
Camp registration is OPEN NOW and will be available online only. If you have trouble with online registration, please email Kelly.

Each morning parents will walk with their kids to the “commons area” of the Dillon Center and wait as one of our staff members completes the Daily Screening. The Daily Screening will consist of:
- A temperature check (Temperatures of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed)
- A series of questions
If your child has a fever of 100.4 or higher, is coughing or sneezing consistently, has a runny nose, diarrhea or vomiting, please do not bring them to camp. If your child has any of these symptoms while at camp, we will keep them in a safe but isolated area and contact you to pick them up as soon as possible.
After you have completed the daily screening, please walk your child to their designated area where the children will wash their hands. The designated area is where you will sign in your child, drop off and pick up your child daily.
Children will be divided into groups based on age and you will be instructed to take your child to their camp location after check in.
According to CDC regulations, our immediate plans will not include any bus travel, swimming or special guests at this time. As regulations change, we will make changes to our programming. We will play games (without contact), have arts & crafts, science fun, creative play time, recreation time , devotions, swimming and more. We will provide morning snack and lunch for Camp Timberwood , but parents need to supply afternoon snacks. Camp Northern light will be fed lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays but needs to pack 2 snacks. The YMCA will provide face masks/buffs for our campers and staff that need to be worn during the day to ensure the safety of us all.
