Active Lives for Older Adults
Today’s seniors are more health conscious than ever before. At the Y we’ve made the health and fitness of our senior adults a top priority by providing programs for the spirit, mind, and body. Through group exercise classes, aquatic programs that focus on flexibility and mobility, guest speakers, social events, and field trips, our Y is bringing Active Older Adults together for fellowship and fun!

2025 CURRENT PROGRAMS
- SilverSneakers®
SilverSneakers® is a fun, energizing program that helps older adults take greater control of their health by encouraging physical activity and offering social events. As one of the largest senior-focused exercise programs in the United States, this partnership allows eligible members of some health plans to obtain YMCA memberships at no cost. To qualify for a free membership, you must be a Medicaire-eligible member of a health plan that offers the SilverSneakers Program.
- Water Aerobics
This water class is specially designed to improve joint flexibility, muscular endurance and range of motion while reducing joint pain and stiffness. Perfect for the older participant but any age adults are welcomed!
- Pickleball
If you’ve played tennis you can play Pickleball! Pickleball is a racket sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net.
There is no registration or fee – just show up and play! (Days & times dependent on participation)
COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAMS
Our Community Health Programs are Evidence-based Health Intervention (EBHI) programs designed to deliver community-based health and wellness services in innovative new ways rooted in a common commitment to preventing and combating chronic disease. These programs are open to all, not just current YMCA members. Registration is required to take advantage of these different programs that help our community become healthier and have a higher quality of life.
